UnenrollmentComplete unenrollment paperwork for your child at their school. The school does NOT need a letter of intent. Welcome to homeschooling! Colorado law requires 172 days of schooling, 4 hours per day. Required subjects are reading, writing and speaking, mathematics, history, civics, literature, science, and the constitution of the United States.

Notice of IntentThe letter of intent only needs to be submitted to the school district 14 days before the student begins home schooling. A letter of intent must be re-submitted to the school district annually.

TestingHome schooled students are not required to take state assessment. They are required to either take a nationally standardized achievement test in 3rd, 5th, 7th, 9th, and 11th grades to evaluate academic progress, OR a qualified person must evaluate the student's academic progress at the parent's expense.
