A great documentary about oceanographer Dr. Sylvia Earle's campaign to save the ocean is available on Netflix called Mission Blue. The Hunt for Life is a documentary about paleontologist Dr. Mary Schweitzer discovering blood cells in a dinosaur fossil for the first time and her discovery of being able to identifty that a dinosaur fossil was female. To encourage early readers, each spring and fall we offer the Give Me 20 Challenge to our teachers and parents. The goal of the challenge is to build reading-readiness skills and develop an at-home reading routine over an eight-week period. The challenge is open to anyone who has a preschooler-it can be done individually or in the classroom-no restrictions.
